Overview

Production Supervisor responsible for directing and organizing the production team, coaching and hands-on training to produce parts in accordance with specifications and quality standards, with emphasis on internal and external customer service and efficient production.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direction for production personnel, including coaching and ongoing performance feedback; build group commitment to department and company goals
  • Organize workload according to priority dispatches; direct duties of team members; assist job flow; ensure quality of work during shift by checking work in progress
  • Set up jobs as needed; operate machines according to specifications; check parts for accuracy; maintain documentation in coordination with Quality Assurance
  • Ensure and record accurate counts; maintain efficient production times; communicate clearly with manager, team members and other departments
  • Oversee assigned departments, provide direction, motivation and feedback; assess shop staffing needs and coordinate with manager
  • Communicate and implement all policies and procedures of Future Form Manufacturing; willing to work overtime when needed
  • Maintain ISO 9001 responsibilities as defined in the Quality Manual and Procedure Level documentation
  • Participate in Lean activities; ensure shift is equipped to perform functions
  • Keep tooling neat and organized; perform daily maintenance; perform all other duties as assigned

Follow all OSHA safety regulations and those set by Future Form Manufacturing

Requirements of Position Essential
  • Minimum three years of experience in a precision sheet metal environment
  • One year supervisory or lead experience
  • Strong math skills: ability to perform calculations in all units of measure using whole numbers, decimals and fractions; algebra, geometry and trigonometry knowledge
  • Strong ability to read blueprints
  • Good flat pattern knowledge
  • Strong ability to use precision measuring equipment
  • Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand detailed verbal instructions
  • Willingness to work hours needed to complete jobs
  • Manual dexterity
Beneficial
  • High school graduate with relevant vocational training (e.g., sheet metal work)
Physical Requirements

Sit 25%, Stand 30%, Walk 20%, Bend 5%, Squat 1%, Lift 5%, Twist 10%, Climb 2%, Drive 1%, Push/Pull 1%.

Maximum (minutes based upon an 8 hour day):
Sit 120, Stand 144, Walk 96, Bend 24, Squat 5, Lift 24, Twist 48, Climb 9, Drive 5, Push/Pull 5.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Must have normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) and hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids).

Working Environment

Shop environment with moderate noise; exposure to dust, heat and cold.

This position will require drug testing per company policy.

Hours:

Monday - Friday 5:00am to 3:30pm with occasional Fridays.
