SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as Skill Bridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellows receive up to six months of on-the-job industry training, gaining valuable work experience in the civilian sector and building professional networks as they prepare for full-time civilian employment.

NOTE: You must be currently serving on active duty to be eligible for this fellowship program. This program is not for veterans who have already separated from the military.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble complex electronic and mechanical components and subassemblies according to detailed diagrams and drawings.
  • Perform quality inspections and tests on assembled products.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic assembly issues.
  • Maintain and calibrate assembly tools and equipment.
  • Document and report production activities and any discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior production technicians.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve assembly processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Currently serving as ACTIVE duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD Skill Bridge program.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ years as a technician or in a related field.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Basic understanding of technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing principles.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment.
  • Prior experience with electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Basic skills in assembly, soldering, and connectors.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • OSHA 10‑Hour Training certification.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
Essential Functions
  • Perform assembly tasks, including the ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
  • Operate and maintain assembly tools and equipment, requiring hand/finger dexterity.
  • Stand for extended periods during the work shift.
  • Work in potentially hazardous or loud environments, following safety protocols.
  • Ability to travel may be required.
  • For office roles, capability to work in an office or hybrid environment.

Security Clearance Requirement

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non‑U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF) handles adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants.
