Job DescriptionThe Assembler provides hands-on production support to the Assembly Department, manufacturing components to precise customer specifications and internal procedures. This role focuses on delivering premium-quality parts, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting a smooth production flow with a strong emphasis on both internal and external customer service.
Responsibilities- Operate assembly and production machines as directed, following supervisor or lead instructions to produce parts according to specifications, including riveting and general assembly tasks.
- Use hand and power tools such as drills, table saws, rivet guns, impact guns, and other equipment safely and efficiently to complete assembly work.
- Read and interpret blueprints and assembly instructions to ensure accurate assembly and alignment with customer and internal requirements.
- Perform repetitive, detail-oriented tasks with consistency and accuracy as part of daily production responsibilities.
- Carry out labor-intensive activities such as lifting, bending, standing, and moving for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Obtain first-article approval from a qualified employee, lead, supervisor, or inspector before proceeding with full production.
- Check parts regularly for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications, and take corrective actions when needed.
- Ensure and record accurate part counts and maintain efficient production times to meet output and quality targets.
- Maintain proper documentation on all assignments in coordination with Quality Assurance, including production records and quality checks.
- Accurately document work time, including clock-in and clock-out information, in accordance with company procedures.
- Prepare parts properly for handoff to the next process, ensuring they are organized, labeled, and ready for subsequent operations.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with supervisors, leads, and co-workers regarding work status, issues, and production needs.
- Notify the lead of any material shortages, defects, or mechanical issues that could impact production or quality.
- Work overtime when needed to support production demands and meet customer delivery requirements.
- Maintain responsibilities related to the ISO 9001 quality system in accordance with the Quality Manual and procedure-level documentation.
- Participate actively and positively in Lean activities, contributing to continuous improvement and process efficiency.
- Assist other team members as required to support overall department productivity and teamwork.
- Perform daily maintenance on assigned equipment and tools as needed to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company standards.
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support the assembly and production operations.
- Ability to operate assembly and production machines according to supervisor or lead instructions and established specifications.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools such as drills, table saws, rivet guns, impact guns, and similar equipment.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and the ability to follow detailed assembly instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform frequent, repetitive tasks with consistent quality.
- Capability to perform labor-intensive work, including lifting, bending, standing, and moving for extended periods.
- Ability to maintain accurate counts and documentation related to production and quality assurance activities.
- Effective verbal communication skills to interact clearly and in a timely manner with supervisors, leads, and co-workers.
- Willingness and availability to work overtime when needed to meet production requirements.
- Understanding of and ability to follow ISO 9001 quality system responsibilities and related procedures.
- Ability to participate constructively in Lean activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a production, assembly, or manufacturing environment.
