Responsibilities
Northern Nevada Medical Center (124‑bed acute care hospital in Sparks, Nevada) is seeking a Registered Nurse to work full time on the Medical/Telemetry Unit. This position offers a full benefits package and a convenient night shift schedule, with eligibility for a $10,000 sign‑on bonus.
Job Duties / Responsibilities- Involve the patient and family in psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, and population‑specific needs in care assessment.
- Construct and implement the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill, integrating direct and indirect patient care activities related to the diagnosis and comorbidities.
- Coordinate the implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients, developing goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient/family needs.
- Consistently complete hourly rounds to strengthen nurse communication, improve safety, and anticipate patient needs (e.g., pain, repositioning, toileting). Rounds with purpose include proactively evaluating the environment to ensure it is patient‑friendly and patient safe.
- Collaborate with the patient’s designated care partner to meet the educational, physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of the patient.
- Follow communication practices that minimize risks associated with handoffs among providers, and across transitions in care utilizing the SBAR process.

- Graduate of an accredited or NLN approved RN program
- Current Nevada nursing license
- Current BLS certificate
- Current ACLS certificate
- Must have one year full‑time or three years part‑time experience in an acute care setting
