Registered NURSE, Emergency Dept, Per Diem Varied Shifts

Overview

Northern Nevada Medical Center is a 124-bed acute care hospital located on 23 hillside acres at 2375

E. Prater Way in Sparks, Nevada. The hospital is committed to quality healthcare in a comfortable, accessible environment for the patients served annually.

• Provide direct and indirect patient care with compassion and respect.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in a patient's clinical condition and respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
• Perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision and be willing to float to all units.
• Perform head-to-toe assessments on all patients (pediatric, adolescent, geriatric and general patient populations) and conduct reassessments as per policy.
• Utilize the triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care and accurately assign triage categories.
• Assess and reassess pain, utilize pain management techniques, and educate patients and families about pain management.

• Current NV nursing license
• Current ACLS & BLS certification
• PALS certificate (to be obtained within six months of employment)
• At least 2.5 years of ER experience required
