Responsibilities
ER at North Valleys, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, will be open 24/7 and welcomes all ages from pediatrics to seniors. The facility includes multiple treatment rooms, fast-track exam rooms for efficient triage, advanced imaging (ultrasound, CT, X‑ray) and outpatient lab draws. The ED treats a variety of emergency medical needs including trauma, lacerations, acute pain and other life‑threatening but emergent conditions.
The RN will provide professional nursing care, coordinate care planning with other disciplines, and respond quickly to changes in patient status.
- Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with specialists, and adjusts nursing care as needed for optimal patient care.
- Performs head‑to‑toe assessments and reassessments for all patients, including pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general populations.
- Uses triage processes to ensure timely and appropriate care and accurately assigns triage categories.
- Monitors hemodynamic status and correctly interprets results.
- Assesses and reassesses pain; utilizes appropriate pain management techniques; educates patients and families regarding pain management.
- NV RN License.
- Two to three years of experience in an emergency department preferred.
- Two to three years of experience in critical care preferred.
- Extensive EMS background experience.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Current ACLS Certification (within 6 months of hire).
- Current PALS Certification (within 6 months of hire).
