Northern Nevada Medical Center is a 124‑bed acute care hospital located on 23 hillside acres at 2375
E. Prater Way in Sparks, Nevada. This Registered Nurse opportunity is a per diem position on the Medical/Telemetry Unit with a convenient day shift schedule.
- Involve patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population‑specific, and diversity needs in care assessment.
- Construct and implement the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill, integrating direct and indirect patient care activities related to diagnosis and comorbidities.
- Coordinate and implement the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients, developing goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient/family needs.
- Consistently complete hourly rounds to strengthen nurse communication, improve safety, and anticipate patient needs (e.g., pain, repositioning, toileting); evaluate the environment to ensure it is patient‑friendly and safe.
- Collaborate with the patient’s designated care partner to meet educational, physical, psychological, and spiritual needs.
- Follow communication practices that minimize risks associated with handoffs among providers and across care transitions using the SBAR process.

- Graduate of an accredited or NLN‑approved RN program.
- Current Nevada nursing license.
- Current BLS certificate.
- Current ACLS certificate.
- Must have one year full‑time or three years part‑time experience in an acute care setting.
