Responsibilities include performing wound management for diverse patient populations, educating patients, families, and staff on wound care, prevention of skin breakdown, and appropriate therapies. The role requires knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and current wound management principles.
Qualifications include a nursing degree from an accredited school
, current RN licensure
, and at least two years of medical/surgical or rehabilitation nursing experience
. Preferred certifications are Certified Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse (CWOCN) or Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN).
