We are looking for a Quality Engineering Technician I to join our team at Panasonic Energy. The role involves working on high‑volume lithium‑ion battery manufacturing processes at a Gigafactory near Reno, Nevada. Job Summary: Support quality control initiatives for advanced battery manufacturing and collaborate with Tesla Motors, Inc. and other partners.
- Develop and maintain quality control systems for Li‑ion battery manufacturing processes.
- Conduct incoming materials quality control for cell production and material warehouses.
- Inspect incoming materials, including cell parts, battery active materials, and chemicals for safety and performance.
- Analyze and evaluate materials input/output data to reduce defects and improve battery performance.
- Provide support for cell manufacturing process audits to assure production quality.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or junior college degree in science or engineering preferred.
- Familiarity with quality management tools (control charts, FTA, FMEA, etc.) and MS Office.
- Practical experience with materials analysis, testing, and chemical analysis equipment.
- 3+ years of quality technician experience preferred; high‑volume manufacturing background strongly desired.
- Experience with ISO 9001 auditing and statistical process control.
- Track record of defect reduction in high‑volume manufacturing products.
