AWS Infrastructure Physical Security team is looking for a highly talented and motivated Physical Security System Project Manager and Technology Expert to lead physical security projects. This position will be responsible for the management of data center physical security systems and projects. A successful candidate will be responsible for interpretation of Threat Assessments and AWS Physical Security Standards to assure the proper security mitigations are selected to meet the unique challenges in each area.

You will be responsible for collaborating with AWS architectural and engineering teams to assure each data center meets the high standards AWS sets for physical security. After implementation, this position will be responsible for assuring local security teams have the technical knowledge and resources necessary to meet the physical security mission.

Considered candidates must be at least 18 years old and, as this is a Gov Cloud region, must be U.S. Citizens or have equivalent status.

Effective May 15, 2017, logical access to the AWS Gov Cloud region will be restricted to Amazon employees who are U.S. Citizens. Gov Cloud may NOT be accessed from outside of the United States.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Manage installation of approved physical security system hardware, including access control devices, intrusion detection devices, CCTV, and other components.
  • Design physical security systems for new construction, expansion, and retrofit projects.
  • Prepare security design standards, typical drawings, and technical specification documents for projects to support vendor pricing.
  • Review and provide quality assurance of vendor quotes, and submit complete vendor quote packages to the Infrastructure Technical Project Manager for project requisitions.
  • Project manage multiple, concurrent security system installation projects and vendors.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for physical security system testing and acceptance, ensuring operational readiness at project completion.
  • Prepare and archive project close‑out documentation.
  • Report vendor performance metrics regarding system installation, service delivery, and equipment availability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with AWS architectural and engineering teams to meet high physical security standards.
  • Ensure local security teams have the technical knowledge and resources needed to maintain the physical security mission after implementation.
Basic Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of overseeing security operations and working with security vendors/contractors.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time.
  • At least 2 years of experience in physical security project management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite.
  • Experience designing, implementing, supporting, and evaluating security‑focused tools and services.
  • Experience managing contract security and physical security operation programs such as Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and CCTV Surveillance systems.
  • Experience in project management, including resource planning, managing schedules, reporting project status, and prioritizing own tasks and those of other team members for multiple projects.
  • Professional certifications such as PSP, CPP, or PMP.
