Position

Purpose:

We value the safety of our associates! The Maintenance Mechanic keeps our associates safe by maintaining all equipment inside the warehouses/buildings and ensuring it meets industry standards and operates efficiently according to its specific tasks. The Mechanic, Maintenance is responsible for repairs, adjustments, and ongoing maintenance of facilities. Performs general electrical and/or repairs of and various equipment on company premises. Conduct periodic inspections to determine maintenance work required.

Maintains all equipment necessary to perform work.

Responsibilities:
  • Obtains work schedule and daily production paperwork and prepares for operations. Performs daily safety checks.
  • Performs maintenance, repairs, and installations on various equipment within guidelines of processes and standards.
  • Maintains, replaces, builds, adjusts, and modifies the facilities, buildings, and the grounds according to a set schedule and in emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties and keeps maintenance area orderly and clean as required. At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary reports and paperwork.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • An entry-level Gel Pack Technician performs basic maintenance, repairs, and inspections under supervision, focusing on routine tasks like gel mixing, film replacement, knife replacement, heat block cleaning, and simple diagnostics.
  • Documentation:
    Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory records of parts used.
  • Troubleshooting:
    Identify and diagnose basic mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic issues, often under the guidance of senior technicians.
  • Component Replacement:
    Remove and install worn or broken components like belts, bearings, chains, knives and sensors.
  • Safety Compliance:
    Adhere to all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Upkeep:
    Cleaning tools, maintaining a tidy work area, and strictly following safety procedures.
  • Physical Stamina:
    Ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift heavy items (often up to 50‑60 lbs).
  • Exposure to noisy, hot, cold, wet, or dusty environments is common.
  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
  • 6+ months maintenance and repair or related area.

Preferred qualifications:
  • 1+ years maintenance and repair or related area.
  • Certifications:

    OSHA Forklift operator certificate.
