Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair all Mobile Storage rental fleet equipment, including containers, ground-level offices, office trailers, and modular buildings.
- Clean and maintain equipment safely in accordance with company standards.
- Perform equipment repairs: removing, repairing, and installing floors, tiles, roofs, walls, frames, doors, leaks, caulking, windows, screens, painting, and filter/dampers; replacing skins, trim, tags of equipment; and removal or installation of UR decals and equipment numbers.
- Conduct basic electrical, plumbing, and welding repairs/modifications with minimal direction.
- Hook mobile offices to power sources.
- Check tire pressure and verify lug types.
- Complete assignments on time and within budget, documenting work with work orders and necessary paperwork.
- Travel to customer sites to set up office trailers and assist CDL A drivers when needed.
- Perform equipment modifications in compliance with manufacturer specifications and local building codes.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the shop, yard, tools, and supplies in accordance with Mobile Storage and United Rentals 5S guidelines.
- Store tools, supplies, and VAPs in secure locations and keep the yard free of debris.
- Advise supervisors of supply needs.
- Inspect inbound and outbound equipment, following Rental Flow procedures.
- Operate forklifts.
- Show and exhibit fleet to customers when required.
- Safely install and uninstall VAPs per reservation requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Active state class driver’s license.
- 3‑5 years of experience with basic electrical, plumbing, and/or welding repairs.
- Basic verbal and written communication skills.
- Construction knowledge and background.
- Teamwork and customer service abilities.
- Demonstrated time‑management skills.
- Competency with required information technology.
- Working knowledge of heavy equipment, tools, and manufacturers’ warranty processes.
- Accurate recording of time and materials for work order completion.
- Ability to coach and mentor less experienced staff.
- Physical ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
