Assistant Roofer II

Summary:

The Assistant Roofer II performs routine roofing tasks with limited supervision and demonstrates foundational knowledge of commercial roofing systems. This role builds technical skills and prepares the employee for journeyman-level responsibilities.

* Perform basic installation tasks (fastening, insulation placement, membrane handling, basic trims, coping cap, reglet, counter flashing)

* Use hand and power tools safely and effectively

* Assist with material layout and staging

* Identify common tools, materials, and roofing components

* Actively participate in safety meetings and hazard recognition

* Support quality control by following installation standards

* Exercise stop-work authority to prevent serious safety violations and protect employees, property, and the worksite

* Handle equipment, tools, and materials responsibly, following proper care and safety procedures

* Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and jobsite housekeeping practices

* Education and/or

Experience:

6-18 months of commercial roofing experience (or equivalent training). OSHA 10-Hour certification preferred.
