Summary: The Assistant Roofer I supports roofing crews by performing basic labor tasks under direct supervision. This role is designed for individuals new to commercial roofing and focused on learning safety practices, tools, and fundamental roofing concepts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with jobsite setup and teardown
  • Perform basic installation tasks (installing insulation and cover board)
  • Carry materials, tools, and equipment to and from the roof
  • Maintain a clean and organized jobsite
  • Follow safety rules, PPE requirements, and fall protection procedures
  • Support experienced roofers with basic tasks (holding materials, staging, prepping, cleanup)
  • Learn basic roofing terminology and system components
  • Attend required safety and skills training
  • Exercise Stop-Work Authority to prevent serious safety violations and protect employees, property, and the worksite
  • Handle equipment, tools, and materials responsibly, following proper care and safety procedures
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and jobsite housekeeping practices
Education and/or Experience

No prior roofing experience required; on-the-job training provided. Basic understanding of workplace safety and construction industry preferred. OSHA 10-Hour certification preferred.
