About the Role

This role primarily involves the installation and decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure within a Data Center environment. A key aspect is the continuous pursuit of sustainable, repeatable, and improved solutions and processes. The individual is expected to provide leadership to crews and provide structured feedback on project progress to various stakeholders, ensuring high‑quality workmanship, maintaining Data Center cleanliness, and adhering to all production, safety, and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.

The role also requires collaboration with stakeholders to resolve project obstacles and the ability to read and comprehend blueprints and building documentation. A broad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies is essential.

What You Will Do
  • Installation/decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment.
  • Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement.
  • Provide structured feedback on project progress to stakeholders.
  • Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain Data Center cleanliness.
  • Follow all production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
  • Read and comprehend blueprints and building documentation/redline work.
  • Have a broad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies.
  • Copper/Fiber (term, test, splice, troubleshoot).
What You Will Need
  • Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools.
  • Ability to lead a crew of 1–5 technicians.
  • Understanding of customer service, performing job walks, and communicating with customers for job requirements.
  • Acceptance of responsibility for the outcome of work performed by oneself and by employees who directly report.
  • Clear understanding of job safety requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand job floor plans.
  • Familiarity with wiring schemes, wiring testing, and field terminations and labeling.
  • Capability to pull all types of low‑voltage cables.
  • Capability to maintain orderly paperwork, run midsize to large projects, and perform service jobs.
  • Skill to layout MDF and IDF closets, dress cables, perform terminations, and basic understanding of fiber equipment and fiber terminations.
  • Basic understanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work in Data Centers.
  • Ability to work on analog, DSL, extend T1 lines, and patch network equipment.
  • Track and submit timesheets for crew reporting.
  • Perform job walks and maintain paperwork for service jobs.
  • Effectively communicate with Foreman, Leads, and Tech.
  • Knowledge and understanding of network handover, metrics/SLA tracking, lessons learned documentation, and QAQC quality status walks.
  • Knowledge of project close‑out procedures.
  • Identify technicians’ strengths and weaknesses.
