As a Maintenance Technician - Incinerator at Waste Management (WM), you'll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on incinerators and related plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable waste processing. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical and basic electrical issues, inspecting burners and combustion systems, repairing pumps, motors, conveyors, and valves, and supporting shutdowns and start-ups. You'll follow strict safety and environmental procedures, document work in a CMMS, collaborate with operators and engineers, and help improve equipment reliability in a fast-paced, mission-critical facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on incinerators and related equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and basic electrical issues on pumps, motors, and conveyors
- Inspect, clean, and maintain burners and combustion systems for safe, efficient operation
- Support equipment start-ups, shutdowns, and turnaround activities
- Follow safety, environmental, and LOTO procedures at all times
- Use CMMS to document work orders, parts used, and maintenance history
- Read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and schematics
- Collaborate with operators, engineers, and supervisors to resolve equipment issues
- Assist with improvements to equipment reliability and uptime
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area
