What To Expect
Tesla is continually designing new factories, manufacturing lines, and processes to deliver the high-quality products our customers expect. In nearly every part of Tesla’s manufacturing process, torque tools play a critical role in product assembly. GFNV’s Central Tooling Management (CTM) team is essential in ensuring these tools operate reliably and at the highest standard. The CTM team is responsible for calibrating a wide variety of torque tools to maintain tool availability and ensure equipment meets production and quality demands.
The team also collaborates with cross-functional groups to support compliance with government‑regulated quality audits. In addition, the CTM team plays a key role in troubleshooting high‑level and critical issues involving tightening systems such as those from Atlas Copco, Desoutter, Estic, Bosch, and Bollhoff, while supporting the commissioning of new high‑volume production lines. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is eager to learn rapidly evolving technologies, possesses advanced knowledge of torque tool systems (Atlas Copco experience strongly preferred), and can remain composed in high‑pressure situations.
The ideal candidate will have strong general computer literacy and the ability to work professionally and effectively with various cross‑functional teams.
- Assist in the commissioning of new high-volume production lines by supporting engineers in configuring torque tool equipment
- Troubleshoot advanced tightening systems including torque controllers, torque tools, Ethernet connections, tool cables, tool positioning systems, tightening programs, and PLC communication interfaces
- Collaborate and work with multiple on‑site/off‑site cross‑functional engineering, quality, production and maintenance teams
- Own and maintain critical servers and databases where critical information, applications and software is stored
- Work closely with tool vendors to support escalated troubleshooting and help evaluate the best technology solutions for specific manufacturing applications
- Train new technicians to troubleshoot and support tightening systems, particularly after line upgrades and expansions involving new technologies
- Run TTF (Torque to Failure) for NPI and Quality on demand. Set up the equipment offline and provide a full report/study
- Manage the following:
Tools
Talk2 Server for all PF6000 controllers factory wide, user access and user rights to Atlas Copco Tools

- Proficiency working in a high‑impact, responsive, and collaborative team environment.
- 2+ years of experience configuring/building tightening systems from companies like Atlas Copco, Desoutter, Stanley, Bosch, Estic, etc.
- Technically proficient in Windows‑based computer systems and general computer literacy (software installs, networking, file transfers)
- Experience with Atlas Copco systems, electrical and mechanical repairs
- Good understanding of engineering principles, tightening/fastening strategies
- Experience in Fieldbus, PLC and Tools Net intercommunication
