Job Overview
The Regional Truck Driver is a key position at Jensen Infrastructure. You’ll deliver precast concrete products to customers or internally from branch to branch in a safe and timely manner based on a pre-determined schedule. This is a regional position servicing AZ, CA, NV, UT, , OR and WA, requiring the driver to be on the road. The role reports to our fleet dispatcher and primarily works with customers, delivery drivers and the sales team.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a safe and clean work environment and truck; return all tools after use to proper storage location; perform routine housekeeping (cleaning, organizing).
- Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service and repair status following applicable state and federal regulations; check all load‑related documentation to ensure it is complete and accurate; immediately report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
- Check vehicles prior to driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order; follow established company safety, OSHA, and DOT guidelines when transporting goods; advise supervisor of any issues after daily inspections are completed.
- Ensure proper customer service by reviewing and comparing invoices to loaded product; collect delivery instructions, verify them, and request routes/drop‑off locations; read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes; drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes to document weights and comply with state regulations; obtain receipts or signatures when loads are delivered to customers.
- Transport products while abiding by road rules and ensuring safety on the road; install tire chains in inclement weather; drive overnight or during early morning hours; secure loads by utilizing chains, binders, straps, slings, etc.; ensure proper tie‑down technique; ensure truck and products do not exceed the maximum weight limits for transport.
- Load and unload trailer at pickup and delivery points.
- Licensed Class A CDL driver (multiple trailer endorsement) with a Medical Examiner’s card.
- Willingness to travel away from home for a week at a time and occasionally stay longer at a location.
- Comfortable handling large and heavy flatbed loads.
- Safety conscious, follows all regulations, and does not take shortcuts.
