Lumber Yard Foreman

Buchheit Inc. is seeking a hands-on Lumber Yard Foreman to lead daily operations at our farm and home retail lumber yard. In this role, you will supervise yard staff, coordinate loading and unloading of lumber and building materials, and maintain accurate, organized inventory. You'll ensure a safe, clean work area, operate forklifts and material-handling equipment, and provide friendly, knowledgeable service to farm, residential, and contractor customers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily lumber yard operations and team members
• Coordinate loading, unloading, and staging of lumber and building materials
• Ensure accurate inventory control, stock rotation, and product organization
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant yard environment
• Operate or oversee operation of forklifts and material-handling equipment
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service to retail and contractor customers
• Schedule staff, assign tasks, and train team members on procedures and safety
• Collaborate with store management on merchandising, delivery, and special orders
• Monitor quality of incoming and outgoing materials and resolve discrepancies
• Support a culture of teamwork, reliability, and strong work ethic
