• Ability to physically attend to student care needs, including personal care, diapering, transfers to and from wheelchair, tube feeding, medication administration, augmentative communication, assistive technology devices and wheelchair mobility;
• Ability to lift 50 pounds;
• Provide support to students within general/special education school settings and the community;
• Experience working with students with disabilities, including but not limited to cognitive impairments, autism, and limited communication is preferred;
• Ability to monitor and manage student behavior;
• Ability to follow, implement and document all aspects of Positive Behavior Intervention Plan;
• Effective communication skills with a variety of staff members;
• Ability to work with children in a caring, nurturing manner;
• Demonstrates flexibility, teamwork, organization and strong work ethic;
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality;
• Basic computer skills preferred;
• Ukeru and/or CPI training is preferred.
• One of the following preferred:
  • 60 credit hours of college credit
  • Associate's degree
  • College Board’s SAT score of at least a 480 on evidence-based reading and writing and a 530 on math
  • ETS Parapro Assessment with a passing score of 460
