Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - School Nursing

Start Date:

Why Nurses Choose Health Bar

Healthcare doesn't have to mean long shifts, unpredictable schedules, or rushing from patient to patient.

At Health Bar, our school nurses build meaningful relationships, have the time to deliver thoughtful care, and receive ongoing support from an experienced clinical leadership team.

Our nurses choose school nursing because it offers:

  • Nights, weekends, holidays, and summers off
  • Time to build meaningful relationships instead of managing high patient volumes
  • A collaborative team environment
  • Clinical support when you need it
  • The opportunity to make a lasting impact on students and families
Why This Role Is Different

School nursing is different from almost every other nursing role.

Instead of caring for dozens of patients during a shift, you'll have the opportunity to provide thoughtful, relationship-based care in one school community. You'll become a trusted healthcare resource for students, families, and school staff while helping students safely participate in their education.

Every day is meaningful, collaborative, and predictable... As predictable as nursing can get. You'll work alongside teachers, therapists, administrators, and families to support student health while enjoying a schedule that leaves your evenings, weekends, holidays, and summers free.

This position primarily supports a student with ongoing medical needs while also serving as a valued member of the school's health team when additional support is needed.

  • Monitoring health status and responding to changes in condition
  • Managing tracheostomy and ventilator-related care according to physician orders and care plans
  • Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Assessing and responding to illness, injuries, or medical emergencies during the school day
  • Maintaining accurate health records and documenting care provided
  • Collaborating with teachers, administrators, therapists, and families to support the student’s health and educational goals
  • Serving as a health resource for school staff and assisting with health-related needs as appropriate

This position is primarily focused on supporting a student who requires ongoing tracheostomy care throughout the school day.

This role offers the opportunity to build a meaningful, long-term relationship with a student and school community while providing consistent nursing support throughout the school year.

Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to build trust with both the student and educational team are important for success in this role.

This Role Is a Great Fit If…

You’re an LPN who enjoys building strong relationships with students and providing individualized care in a school environment.

This role is ideal for someone who values consistency, communication, and becoming a trusted member of a student’s support team. We are seeking someone interested in establishing continuity of care and growing with the student and school community over time.

If you enjoy seeing the impact of your work firsthand and want a schedule that provides evenings, weekends, holidays, and summers off, this may be an excellent fit.
