The Sales Support Specialist plays a critical role inmaintainingtimelyand precise order processing, clear internal communication, and excellent service to customers across retail, food service, wholesale, or broker channels. This role is based on-site in Sparta, Michigan and works closely withboth Washington’s and Michigan’sinternal operations,logistics, and sales leadership.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment. They communicate clearly, enjoy supporting sales teams, and are comfortable juggling multiple priorities. Fresh produce or perishable industry experience is a plus, but strong order entry skills, accuracy, and a proactive, team-first mindset are essential.
Key Responsibilities Order Management & Data Entry- Accurately enter sales orders into customer portals and internal systems, including pricing, delivery instructions, and special requirements.
- Review and verify shipments, pricing, and order details to support sales accuracy and fulfillment.
- Monitor order status and communicate updates or discrepancies to the sales team and customers.
- Serve as a point of contact for customer questionsregardingorders, pricing, and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate with logistics, production, and operations to help ensure orders ship on time and accurately.
- Support the Sales Account Manager with administrative tasks that enhance customer service and operational efficiency.
- Communicate regularly with Sales Account Managersregardingproduct availability, inventory levels, and delivery schedules.
- Assistin reconciling inventory data and reporting inventory concerns to sales and operations teams.
- Help prepare basic sales reports, customer correspondence, and internal documentation.
- Previous experience in order entry, customer service, sales support, or administrative roles; experience in the fresh produce or perishables industry is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and comfort learning internal systems.
