School Social Worker - Sparta, MI

Take on a dynamic, in-person contract assignment supporting a middle school population from August 24, 2026, through June 9, 2027. With up to 40 hours per week, youll collaborate with an inclusive team to ensure every student has access to the help they deserve.

In this important role, youll provide direct support across general education and special education settings, focusing on students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and moderate cognitive impairments. Foster a positive school environment while facilitating crucial interventions, counseling, and connections to resources.

• Masters in Social Work (MSW) and Michigan professional School Social Worker certificate (preferred)
• Open to consideration:
  Limited License MSW with SSW certification
• Recent experience in a school settingmiddle school or youth-focused work highly valued
• Knowledge or familiarity with supporting students with ASD and moderate cognitive impairments
• Outstanding communication, empathy, and organizational skills
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to school/district policies

• Deliver individualized and group counseling for students across SPED and general education programs
• Implement interventions and foster social-emotional learning
• Advocate for students while collaborating with teachers, administrators, and family members
• Participate in IEP meetings, provide input, and document progress
• Connect students and families with community resources as needed
