Position Summary

My client is seeking an Architectural Marketing & Specifications Manager to grow their presence and influence within the architectural and design community. This unique role combines architectural and technical expertise with marketing, relationship development, and specification strategy. The successful candidate will serve as a key connection between the Company and architects, specifiers, engineers, and designers— helping them identify, design, and specify the right Company solutions.

Beyond technical support, this position will proactively develop architectural relationships, identify projects early in the design cycle, increase the Company specifications, create best-in-class architectural resources, and connect specification activity with actionable opportunities for the Sales organization.

Key Responsibilities Architectural Market Development
  • Build and maintain relationships with architects, specifiers, engineers, consultants, and design firms.
  • Identify and influence projects early in the design process, positioning the Company as a preferred or basis-of-design solution.
  • Assist with product selection, applications, specifications, technical documentation, drawings, and design resources.
  • Track active projects, specifications, bid timing, and key project intelligence.
  • Partner with Sales to transition architectural activity into actionable project opportunities and help protect the Company specifications through bid.
Marketing & Architect Engagement
  • Partner with Marketing to develop campaigns, content, and programs targeting the AEC community.
  • Lead architectural outreach, lunch‑and‑learns, webinars, AIA Continuing Education programs, and firm presentations.
  • Develop architectural resources including application guides, case studies, presentations, specification tools, and technical content.
  • Support vertical-market initiatives by creating architectural programs tailored to priority industries and applications.
  • Represent the Company at architectural conferences, trade shows, and industry events.
BIM & Technical Resources
  • Develop and maintain high-quality Revit families, BIM content, CAD drawings, architectural details, and specification resources.
  • Establish standards and best practices for the Company architectural content consistent with BIM and AEC industry standards.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to ensure technical accuracy of architectural resources.
  • Identify and improve resource gaps that make the Company products more difficult to design or specify.
Cross-Functional Support
  • Serve as a liaison between Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and the architectural community.
  • Communicate active specifications, project opportunities, and architectural market intelligence to Sales.
  • Gather architect and specifier feedback to help identify product, content, training, and market opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Construction Management, Engineering, Building Science, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of architectural design, specifications, construction documents, and the building-design process.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, BIM content, CAD, and architectural drawings.
  • Ability to interpret architectural plans, specifications, details, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable proactively engaging architects, designers, engineers, customers, and sales professionals.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Willingness to travel for firm visits, presentations, trade shows, and industry events.

Preferred experience includes: architectural product marketing, specification sales, building-product manufacturing, CSI/Master Format specifications, AIA Continuing Education, CRM/project-tracking systems, and commercial door or related building-product experience.
