Maintenance Director

National Health Care Corporation (NHC) is seeking a qualified Maintenance Director to organize, direct, and supervise the maintenance and repair program for our buildings, grounds, and institutional equipment in Sparta.

• Plan, direct, and supervise the maintenance program, including HVAC, chillers, plumbing, water, gas, electrical, mechanical, oxygen, communications, carpentry, painting, plastering, refinishing, heavy‑duty cleaning, grounds care, and vehicle maintenance. Schedule maintenance on a repair, preventive replacement, and new installation basis.
• Orient, instruct, and supervise other maintenance personnel; assign duties and evaluate work performance.
• Requisition supplies and equipment for departmental activities.

• High school graduate or graduate of a technical school.
• At least two years of experience in maintenance and various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals; knowledge of local codes, ordinances, and safety regulations.
• Ability to plan and carry out repair, new construction, and installation programs; ability to direct others.
• Knowledge of record keeping, cost estimating, and equipment care.
• Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with patients and families.
