Receiving Supervisor

TACO Metals is seeking a results-driven Receiving Supervisor to lead all receiving operations within our manufacturing facility. This hands‑on leadership role oversees material receipt, inventory accuracy, productivity performance, cost control, safety compliance, and team development in a fast‑paced environment.
The ideal candidate is adaptable, metrics‑driven, and experienced in warehouse or manufacturing leadership, with a strong focus on safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Inventory
Oversee daily receiving activities to ensure materials are received safely, accurately, and on time.
Verify receipts against vendor packing slips and communicate overages, shortages, or damaged materials to Purchasing.
Maintain accurate system inventory counts; supervise inventory monitoring and bin audits.
Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and communicate challenges to the Operations Director.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
Establish hourly productivity goals and address root causes of performance gaps.
Apply Root Cause Corrective Action principles to solve operational issues.
Lead Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Set performance standards based on process, equipment, and system capabilities.
Manage direct and indirect controllable costs and eliminate waste to meet cost targets.
Leadership & Communication
Supervise, coach, and develop Receiving team members.
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and standards.
Assess staffing needs and provide training and motivation.
Monitor performance, implement corrective action plans, and recognize high performance.
Foster timely communication within the team and across departments while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Partner with Quality Control to resolve non‑conformances, customer complaints, and quality alerts.
Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety regulations.
Promote and maintain a safe, organized work environment.
Additional Duties
Support cross‑functional initiatives, attend training programs, and perform other duties as assigned.
Associate’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing or warehouse operations.
Supervisory experience in receiving or warehouse environments required.
Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience preferred.
Metrics‑driven with strong customer service focus and adaptability.
Strong analytical, communication, and training skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
High integrity and ethical standards.
Flexibility to work weekends as needed.
Detail‑oriented; understanding of engineering fundamentals preferred.
Physical Requirements
Regular communication with team members and stakeholders.
Primarily sedentary with occasional standing and walking.
Ability to speak, hear, and see effectively.
Visual acuity sufficient for data analysis and document review.
