We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Continuous Improvement Specialist. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will work in Sparta, TN.
Responsibilities- Review operations performance data (e.g., labor productivity, variable overhead costs, first pass yield) to determine areas requiring improvement; consult with Manager and Supervisors to determine potential improvement activities.
- Champion Dometic Production System (DPS).
- Analyze areas needing improvement and determine potential solutions.
- Supervise improvement projects, monitor, and report on project status; ensure process improvement projects are implemented on time.
- Work with Manager and Supervisors to implement and maintain Standardized Work; conduct time studies and optimize line balance.
- Analyze and optimize flow of material in the plant; create, update, and maintain plant layout drawings.
- Develop and implement solutions based on Lean Six Sigma, including tools such as 5S, Kanban, VSM, Kaizen, and PFMEA.
- Work closely with Supervisors daily to implement solutions to operational issues (health and safety, quality, and output).
- Be involved with new product launches.
- Communicate complex information to end users both one-on-one and in group presentations, ensuring information is understood and enacted.
- Train and educate the organization and implement continuous improvement methodologies to meet operation and production requirements.

A suitable background would be solid experience within Continuous Improvement and Manufacturing, as well as the following qualifications and experiences:
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Operations or Business, or a suitable combination of experience and education.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in lean, continuous improvement, efficiency improvement, manufacturing cost reduction, process flow, plant layout, and new product launches.
- Experience with Lean/Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence.
- Lean or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent would be considered an asset.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office programs including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint; ability to learn other applications quickly.
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to work respectfully with a wide range of people from different cultures and educational backgrounds at all levels of a company.
- Able to drive change while maintaining good working relationships.
- Leading and managing change; inspire, engage and promote innovation and continuous improvement.
- Able to teach, guide, coach and mentor.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma philosophy, system and tools, and implementation.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
