Food Pantry Support Specialist

Overview

The Food Pantry Support Specialist supports daily operations of the food pantry, ensuring donations are safely received, stored, organized, and distributed, including some evening and weekend hours to meet community needs. This role involves physical work, equipment operation, volunteer support, occasional driving, and maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and customer service.

• Unload deliveries and donated food items from trucks and vehicles.
• Inspect incoming products for quality and safety.
• Weigh, log, and store items following First-In, First-Out (FIFO) procedures.
• Maintain clean and organized storage areas, including coolers and freezers.
• Support waste reduction efforts through proper storage and inventory rotation.
• Assist with placing orders, tracking order delivery and completing reporting requirements.
• Assist volunteers with daily tasks such as food sorting, packing, and distribution.
• Help maintain a positive, supportive, and safe environment.

• Prior experience and/or a high school diploma are preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and maintain vehicle insurance.
