Position: 91J Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer

Job Overview

The Army National Guard uses a wide range of systems that help protect and serve the force. As a Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer, you’ll be in charge of keeping those systems running at peak performance.

Responsibilities
  • Support maintenance of chemical decontamination equipment and quartermaster machinery.
  • Train to maintain laundry and bath equipment, pumps, engines, burners, filter units, and water purification units.
  • Maintain special purpose equipment, decontamination and protective filter systems, smoke generator systems, and chemical electrical systems.
  • Service internal combustion engine ignition/fuel/cooling/electrical systems.
  • Perform damage assessment and repair.

  • Interest in shop mechanics, fixing engines, and machinery.
Earn While You Learn

In the Army National Guard, you will learn valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance.

After 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you learn fundamental Soldiering skills, you will attend 12 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. This training includes hands‑on and classroom instruction in marine engine maintenance and repair, internal combustion engine theory, and the use and care of hand and power tools.
