Staff Accountant - Entry Level

Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This is a great entry-level opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to build a strong foundation in accounting. The ideal candidate will support day-to-day accounting operations while gaining hands-on experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger management.

Responsibilities:

- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.

- Prepare and perform bank and account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and account analyses.

- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.

- Assist in preparing financial statements and internal management reports.

- Review financial data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies as needed.

- Support audits by gathering documentation and preparing requested schedules.

- Collaborate with the accounting team to improve processes and strengthen internal controls.

- Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned to support the department.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial concepts.

- Knowledge of accounts payable processes and general accounting practices.

- Familiarity with bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger functions.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Competency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines effectively.

- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to financial challenges.

- Internship or prior accounting experience is a plus, but not required.
