Job Description

Assignment Purpose/Scope Support the Assembly Test, Finish, Rework, and New Model Launch areas with the development of process improvements, innovations, and software tools. Engage in problem solving related to quality and process flow topics within the department. Collaborate with department management teams to iterate on existing concepts to improve transparency of the quality landscape, F1-F2 and Launch Processes, and Vehicle/Information Flow management.

Also, envision the next generation of flow concepts and software tools, assessing their feasibility and potential benefits. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Assignment Duties

• Quality, Data Analytics, Problem Solving: Engage in problem solving related to KPI impacts and quality. Develop new ways to display operations data that facilitate a faster and clearer path from problem recognition to solution. Participate in problem‑solving activities to improve KPIs and develop new methods and tools. This may include developing new mobile software or hardware solutions to streamline the defect documentation process.
  
  Develop or enhance tools to improve visibility of plant quality process adherence and interface with existing plant quality management IT systems. Suggest and test new ideas that do not yet exist.
• Vehicle Flow Management: Support management and quality teams to develop and enhance processes with software tools to manage offline vehicle flow more efficiently through multiple and complex testing and rework areas. Simplify and save labor by providing smarter tools to detect irregularities or inconsistencies in vehicle routing decisions to support faster resolution, feedback to issue sources, and improve on‑time delivery.
• Vehicle Launch Preparations: Support management and quality teams to enhance processes related to production, testing, and finishing in New Vehicle Launch processes.
• Dashboard Creation: Create innovative dashboards to quantify, understand, and visualize the intricacies of launching future vehicles in Plant 10.
• Create process sheets for problem management and data quality activities.
• Develop a tool to simulate process changes and impacts on vehicle flow, throughput times, and on‑time delivery; test implementation where feasible.
• Further develop Artificial Intelligence applications in Test, Finish, and Vehicle Launch areas.
• Investigate innovation opportunities related to vehicle and information flow processes, such as developing a tool for automatic routing of vehicles and shipping.
• Update co‑op manual and onboarding information.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, correlations, and trends.
• Conduct statistical analysis to uncover insights and support decision‑making processes.
• Support the implementation and optimization of data analytics tools and processes.

• Gain insight into TX45 operations: receiving finished products from assembly; responsible for testing, inspecting, reworking, and shipping all vehicles on site. TX45 is the gateway to the customer and must ensure premium quality in a timely manner. Responsible for launching new series, including multiple build phases. Interns will gain added insight into these phases of automotive manufacturing.
