Construction Estimator

A well‑established, privately owned general contractor with a long-standing reputation across the Carolinas and Tennessee is seeking a Commercial Construction Estimator to support its growing operations in the Greenville, SC market. The company delivers a diverse range of projects, from small renovations to large-scale commercial builds, and is known for its capabilities in vertical construction, infrastructure/utilities, pre‑engineered systems, and sustainable building solutions.

• Review architectural, structural, civil, and MEP plans for commercial construction projects
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and unit pricing across materials, labor, equipment, and subcontract scopes
• Prepare conceptual estimates, preliminary budgets, and hard bids for various commercial project types
• Support design‑build estimating when needed

• Manage the full bid lifecycle: invitations, RFI tracking, subcontractor qualification, and scope alignment
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals including clarifications, assumptions, alternates, and schedule considerations
• Identify cost‑efficient alternatives without compromising design intent or quality
• Evaluate constructability, risks, and budget impacts
• Work closely with internal teams on estimating strategy, project turnover, and documentation
• Provide clear reporting and communication throughout the preconstruction process

• This role reports directly to a senior executive (VP‑level)

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
• Proficiency with Procore
• Strong knowledge of CSI divisions, trade scopes, and commercial construction sequencing
• Deep understanding of commercial means & methods, building codes, and industry standards
