Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time special education teaching position is available in Spartanburg, SC, serving a preschool autism class at an elementary school setting. This role focuses on instructing students in grades 4K, 5K, and 1st grade, supporting a class size of 12 to 13 students. The classroom is staffed with two teacher assistants to aid with daily activities and student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to students with autism in a full-day preschool program.
- Provide support with toileting and other personal care needs for students.
- Collaborate with teacher assistants to create a positive and productive learning environment.
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with multi-categorical special education standards.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods to meet diverse learner requirements.
Qualifications:
- Valid multi-categorical special education certification.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in special education settings is preferred.
- Ability to manage a classroom environment involving students with autism and related support needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina
