Role DescriptionThe Area Coordinator for Residence Education & Campus Recreation at Converse University is a full-time, on-site position located in Spartanburg, SC. This role involves overseeing residence education programs, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for students, and managing campus recreation activities. The Area Coordinator will collaborate with other campus departments to enhance student life, provide training and support to staff, and foster a sense of community among residents.
Additionally, the position includes supervising resident assistants and assisting in the development and implementation of programming for student engagement.
- Strong foundation in Education, Pedagogy, and Training to support student development and promote effective learning environments.
- Exceptional Communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey ideas and foster meaningful connections with students and staff.
- Proven Customer Service and interpersonal skills to address student needs and promote a welcoming residential and recreational experience.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and diverse campus culture that aligns with Converse University's values and mission.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Development, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working in residence life, campus recreation, or student affairs is a strong asset.
