Currently, DSJ Global is partnered with an automotive manufacturing organization seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support tooling, plant layout, and process improvement initiatives. This role provides hands‑on engineering support for in‑house tooling, workstation fabrication, and quality activities, while driving continuous improvement efforts across the facility. The Mechanical Engineer will contribute to ISO certification readiness, troubleshoot production issues, and collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams.
As the Mechanical Engineer, you will:
- Design and support tooling, fixtures, and workstation setups.
- Utilize CAD software for layouts, documentation, and engineering updates.
- Assist with basic quality processes and troubleshooting.
- Improve plant layout, including air, power, safety, and workflow optimization.
- Conduct time studies and support lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives.
The Mechanical Engineer should have:
- Bachelor's degree (Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical preferred) or associate degree with experience.
- Proven experience in manufacturing engineering and process improvement.
- Hands‑on experience with tooling/fixture design and workstation fabrication.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, 5S, and standard work documentation.
- Proficiency in CAD interpretation and Microsoft Office; bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
