Responsibilities- Manage all customer specific Advanced Quality Planning requirements, utilizing all applicable customer and internal specific systems throughout launch
- Track and get final approval for PPAP with customers and internal/external suppliers. Track Supplier PPAP readiness. This includes the ability to revise and create DFMEA, PFMEA, and Control Plans
- Lead and manage launch part production buyoffs with the customer, including customer events and customer meetings where root cause analysis skills are critical
- Maintenance of APQP documentation and support of the corrective action process are primary tasks. This includes preparation and submission of customer required documentation and construction of 8D problem solving responses
- Manage Gaging needs and Fixture design, on‑time build and prove‑out (MSA requirements) with customer for overhead systems and components
- Responsibility for customer notifications related to quality or delivery issues, including special status per customer specific requirements (CSR)
- Lead APQP activities for both internal and external suppliers, preparing the different Tiers for PPAP before the start of production
- Work with Motus Launch and operations teams to ensure that all launch deliverables are completed on time and critical issues are identified and resolved timely
- Leverage resources, best practices, and experience to ensure that quality and business objectives are achieved in new product development
- Responsible for leading, developing, managing and executing all quality systems and deliverables required within their area of responsibility. This includes working with customers, suppliers (external and internal), Launch personnel, and Manufacturing staff
- Supporting in certification and customer audits
- Promote safety in the manufacturing facility and developed gages
- The position is primarily first shift, but includes support of other shifts
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or related
- 3+ years of experience in quality manufacturing
- Working knowledge of automotive industry APQP tools (Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, PSOs, etc.)
- IATF certification, preferred
- Proficiency with all PPAP elements and AIAG requirements – capability studies, MSA requirements, SPC, PFMEA, Control Plan, AAR.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS), ISO/TS 16949 AND ISO 9001, automotive quality core tools.
- GD&T proficiency:
Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have a good understanding of geometrical dimensioning and tolerance and statistical analysis. - Must be able to generate, follow and explain detailed proposals and operating procedures (i.e. assembly instructions, inspection procedures, capital proposals)
- Travel required up to 20%
- Experience with BMW development or production processes (portal, customer specific requirements)
