As a field mechanical engineer, you will work on projects that enable the heart of our client’s data center site. You and other team members will work closely with client owners in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. In this role you will collaborate with on-site personnel to support projects of varying size and complexity including assessment of systems, consulting system owners and analyzing scope requests from stakeholders.

What

To Expect In This Role
  • Reviewing vendor submittal packages against client requirements and specifications
  • Interacting with subcontractors and construction personnel
  • Perform field inspections and audits to verify compliance with contract documents, construction drawings, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Review and interpret project specifications, drawings, RFI’s, and submittals to ensure adherence to quality requirements.
  • Track and document non-conformance reports (NCRs) and oversee corrective actions to resolve quality issues.
  • Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and project teams to enforce quality standards and resolve issues.
  • Oversee and inspect construction activities to verify workmanship, alignment, and adherence to project requirements.

  • Support pre-installation meetings, punch lists, and final inspections to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations, and industry best practices
Here’s what you'll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited university
  • At least 3 years of practical application of mechanical facilities design engineering, including HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, and related mechanical facilities systems
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and leadership experience
  • Solid knowledge and application of building codes and other related standards (ASHRAE, ASME, etc.)
  • Solid knowledge in practice and procedures for specifications and selection of all types of mechanical equipment and components
  • Proficient working knowledge of design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
  • Passionate about buildings and construction
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
  • 5 years of experience working on site or as a facility engineer
  • Working knowledge of design-related deliverables, such as P&IDs, PFDs, Details, and Equipment Plans, etc.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard HVAC load and energy modeling software such as Carrier HAP, Trane Trace 700, or Trane Trace 3D.
  • Experience coordinating work packages with contractors/subcontractors
