Warehouse Material Handler

Position: Warehouse Material Handler 1
Job Summary

We are hiring for all shifts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Include packaging materials, maintaining inventory, assisting operators, and handling materials using forklifts and overhead cranes. Candidates should be comfortable working in a hot environment and follow safety protocols. Experience in steel manufacturing or warehouse operations is preferred, and forklift/crane experience is a plus.

We offer competitive pay starting at $20 per hour with potential to reach $22, along with a benefits package effective on Day 31 of employment. Additional perks include employee lunches, wellness programs, and weekly pay.

Function in the Job

Medium/Heavy work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Job Function

* Package material according to the Shop Order using the Packaging Profile or as instructed.

* Maintain inventory of supplies, banding, seals, edge protectors, paper separators, and skids.

* Skidding material. Generate computer-assisted setup. Select proper knives, set up slitter head, and select and lay out tooling.

* Assist operator/helper and check shipping paperwork.

* Load/unload coils onto flatbed trucks/railcars using forklift and overhead crane.

* Proper placement of coils in the warehouse.

* Inspect, measure, and use tools required for jobs in production and shipping departments.

* Additional duties as assigned by supervisor/manager in shipping and production.

* Must be able to walk, stand, and bend.

Required Skills

Ability to walk, stand, and bend for extended periods; experience working in a hot warehouse environment; production and warehouse experience; sheet metal experience; and proficiency in English. A high school diploma or equivalent is also required. Crane and rigging experience is desirable.
