The South Carolina Department of Education seeks a Lead Software Engineer (Application Developer III) to serve as a senior technical contributor and hands-on developer for the Office of Information Technology. The role involves designing and building full-stack modern web applications using React, Python, and Microsoft Azure while leading a team of developers and establishing engineering standards. This position reports to the Director of Enterprise Application Architecture and is located in Lexington County.
Keyqualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and experience in computer system development
- Five or more years of professional full-stack software development experience with recent hands-on production work
- Technical proficiency in React, Type Script, C#, Python, and Microsoft Azure (Container Apps, App Service, Azure SQL)
- Experience establishing engineering standards, component architectures, and development best practices
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams
- Experience modernizing legacy applications onto modern frameworks and cloud platforms
