Accountant Position

Black Hills State University seeks applicants for an Accountant position.

Black Hills State University is a masters-level state university with more than 3,600 students. It leads the region in sustainability efforts and maintains top academic programs in business, exercise science, natural sciences, social sciences, arts, mass communication, health sciences, and education.

Acts as a paraprofessional to accounting and fiscal professionals by performing assigned accounting practices to assist with fundamental accounting and routine fiscal procedures. This position will assist with accounts payable, reconciling, and general accounting.

Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), practices and standards, analyze and interpret financial data information and reach conclusions, establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and representatives of other agencies or departments.

• A bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting is required OR three or more years of accounting experience.
• Higher education accounting and Banner accounting experience are preferred.
