The Contract Manager will play a meaningful role in supporting the continued growth and operational success of BMD’s Appliance and Lighting Division.
What You’ll DoThe Contract Manager will oversee and coordinate contract-related processes for the Appliance and Lighting Division, with a primary focus on All Inc., BSI Inc., and Light Styles
. This role is responsible for managing the contract lifecycle, supporting contract review and negotiation processes, maintaining compliance documentation, and partnering closely with internal business units, general contractors, attorneys, insurance partners, and leadership
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage the contract lifecycle for assigned business units, ensuring contracts are reviewed, documented, tracked, and processed according to established procedures.
- Review contract submissions, supporting documents, redlines, addendums, subcontract agreements, and related project documentation.
- Partner with business units, general contractors, attorneys, internal leadership, and subject matter experts to resolve contract questions, documentation gaps, and compliance requirements.
- Support contract negotiation by identifying key issues, coordinating redline feedback, proposing language where appropriate, and escalating complex legal matters to Legal Counsel.
- Maintain accurate contract records in Contract Logix, Salesforce, company folders, and other internal systems.
- Oversee Certificates of Insurance, insurance documentation, prequalification requests, W-9s, license requests, tax-exempt requests, OSHA documentation, and other required project documents.
- Coordinate with Payroll, Tax, Credit, Legal, Finance, Insurance, and business unit leadership to ensure required legal, financial, tax, and compliance documentation is complete.
- Monitor contract status, project updates, pending items, and open action items to help keep business units informed and aligned.
- Support the development, maintenance, and training of contract-related SOPs, workflows, templates, and best practices.
- Provide guidance and support to the Contract Administrator and Sr. Contract Administrator roles as needed.
- Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, follow-through, and partnership across the contract function.
The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, collaborative, and comfortable managing contract details in a fast-paced environment. This individual should be able to balance business needs with compliance requirements while maintaining professionalism, sound judgment, and a high level of accuracy.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Construction Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
- Prior experience in contract administration, contract management, construction documentation, legal support, compliance, insurance documentation, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of contract lifecycle processes, including document review, redlines, approvals, signatures, tracking, and record retention.
- Experience working with Certificates of Insurance, compliance documentation, subcontract agreements, prequalification packages, or project-related documentation.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts, business documents, legal documents, financial documents, and compliance requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accuracy under deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience supporting construction, appliance, lighting, distribution, installation, subcontractor, or general contractor environments.
- Experience with Contract Logix, Salesforce, Docu Sign, compliance portals, or similar contract management systems.
- Prior experience coordinating with Legal, Finance, Payroll, Tax, Credit, Insurance, or business unit leadership.
- Experience creating SOPs, process documentation, workflow improvements, or training materials.
