Adjunct Faculty – Architecture

We are inviting adjunct applications for upcoming semesters. Positions are filled on an as‑needed basis. Qualified candidates may be contacted if and when an opening or possible future opening becomes available.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the field of Architecture in‑person at the Union campus.
• Provide teaching experience in architectural design studio and lecture courses in history, theory, representation or technology (desired).
• Maintain at least one (1) hour of availability outside of the classroom per week for each 3‑ or 4‑credit class taught; an additional 30 minutes of availability for each additional class taught during the semester. Availability may be in person or virtual and must be scheduled by the adjunct faculty member, taking into account student needs.
• Provide at least 30 minutes of availability outside of the classroom per week for each class taught when teaching fewer than three (3) credits.
• Discretionary provision of additional office hours beyond the amounts required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field; candidates with an ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D. or other acceptable disciplinary doctorate encouraged to apply.
• Teaching experience required unless otherwise indicated.
• Proficiency in a Learning Management System required, consistent with University guidelines.

Compensation

• Effective September 2025: $2,100 per credit.
• Effective September 2026: $2,225 per credit.
• Beginning in the 13th semester taught: an additional $75 per credit.

Location

• Teaching may be required at any of the New Jersey campus locations including Union, Toms River, Jefferson Township, Jersey City, Brookdale (Middletown), Manahawkin, Princeton, Trenton, or online for Kean Global.
