As a Medication Aide at our Spearfish facility, you will be responsible for assisting residents with daily living tasks including eating, getting out of bed, and getting bathed and dressed. Medication

Aide - Duties and Responsibilities
  • Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations.
  • Ensure the well-being and protection of every resident through the delivery of high-quality care.
  • Promote and support a positive work environment focused on team building and collaboration.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent personal or health information concerning residents and staff.
  • Assist residents by providing snacks and supplements, encouraging water intake, and assisting with feeding as trained and as needed.
  • Answer pendant system/call lights promptly to determine and assist with residents' needs.
  • Coordinate with nursing staff to assist with resident care and medications.
  • Document the outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, and activity and dietary services.
  • Communicate changing health conditions, medication follow-up, and care-related concerns/responses to the nursing leadership team.
  • Perform resident care responsibilities in a manner conducive to resident's safety and comfort consistent with Peaceful Pines Senior Living Policies and Procedures as well as state/federal guidelines and regulations.
  • Adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines for infection‑control techniques.
Medication Aide - Qualifications
  • Licensed in the state of South Dakota as a Medication Aide.
    • On-the-job training provided if you are not currently licensed.
  • A dependable team player looking to promote themselves and the people around them.
  • A passion for working with seniors and/or caring for others.

As a Registered Nurse
, you will be responsible for assessments, documentation, and oversight of care for the residents. You will partner with the Director of Nursing to provide excellent care.

Registered Nurse - Duties and Responsibilities
  • Promotes and supports a positive work environment focused on team building and collaboration.
  • Provides on‑call backup to the community.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent personal or health information concerning residents and staff.
  • Ensures that all the needs are met for the residents as well as advising staff that are on the shift.
  • Ensures that any incident reports are completed properly and promptly.
  • Prepares necessary medical paperwork for all scheduled resident appointments.
  • Assists with compliance in meeting regulations and is available for state licensure surveys.
  • Maintains resident files and appropriate documents as required.
  • Assists Medication Aides and Caregivers in service delivery and training as requested.
  • Notifies DON of any new doctor's orders that are received and informs the DON of any med changes.
  • Performs inventory management for medication administration by Medication Aides and checks new medications from the pharmacy.
  • Communicates in staff communication book any information that staff needs to be aware of.
  • Assist with picking up shifts on an evenly distributed schedule among nursing staff as needed.
  • Reviews, edits, and creates nursing policy drafts to be reviewed and finalized by the Executive Director and/or DON.
  • Obtains, administers, and documents prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and facility standards of practice.
