OVERVIEW

Oversees and coordinates patient care activities of the assigned nursing unit to maintain and enhance quality of patient care.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday.

Shift: Clinic hours unless need dictates otherwise.

Location:

Walworth Hospital & Medical Center. Pay Range: $62,.48.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs duties of LPN. Revises, develops and implements policies and procedures and monitors compliance. Interview, supervise and evaluate personnel of assigned units. Schedule unit personnel to assure efficient patient flow. Participate in planning and promoting public relations. Is flexible to work alternate shifts. Manage departmentalized budgets involving staff and materials. Participate in planning and implementing PI's and quality initiatives. May need to work overtime on more than an occasional basis.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Graduate of an accredited LPN Program OR Wisconsin: have completed the portion of the RN Program needed to obtain a certificate of completion in practical nursing. Illinois: have completed the designated curriculum of a Ladder Option Approved Designated RN Program. Three years of LPN experience in a clinical setting, preferably with some supervisory experience.

CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE

Valid Wisconsin LPN License. CPR Certification. Certain AHA courses such as Heartsaver or Heart Code courses do not meet Mercyhealth standards.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Good interpersonal/communication skills. Good analytical/interpretive skills. Good organizational/implementation skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and color vision.

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION

Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; ensuring employee adherence to annual education and certification requirements.
