- Time, 40 Hours Per Week, Pay Rate: $12.00 Per Hour

Job Summary:

Sort and process items donated to The Salvation Army Store and operate the cash register as needed when the manager is not available.

• Make sure all shelves and clothing racks are full and organized to promote sales.
• Assist the management team to investigate and properly price items to be sold, as needed.
• Process all merchandise efficiently and properly following established standards.
• Daily duties include stocking racks, shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise to promote sales.
• Responsible for learning and training on the entire processing system, including the cash register.
• Maintain a clean environment throughout the store, including shelves, counters, and tables.
• Help set up displays and arrange merchandise to promote sales.
• Drive store trucks for pickup of donated goods when needed.
• Wrap and bag merchandise for customers.
• Provide good customer service by being polite, prompt, and courteous in line with the mission.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

High School diploma or GED. Retail and/or cash register experience preferred, but not required.

• Ability to be flexible and work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
• Basic computer skills with ability to access payroll, timekeeping, and personal data via a web-based system.
• Good communication skills (written and spoken) and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
• Attention to detail and creative problem‑solving skills.
• Strong independent judgment.

Ability to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods, maintain manual dexterity. May need to climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must lift or move more than 50–75 pounds occasionally and independently.

Retail setting, occasional exposure to outside weather. Moderate noise level.
