Job Summary:
To ensure the quality of components and materials by performing detailed inspections, using specific equipment and procedures as instructed by the QC lead.
Duties/Responsibilities- Provide detailed in-process and final inspections on components and materials,
- Use detailed drawings, CAD models, and established processes to verify conformance to manufacturing and design requirements.
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed for the receiving, production, and storage of all items and materials.
- Report all non-conformance (NC) by means of defined company procedures, to the production planning office, the purchasing department, and engineering
- Implement authorization for use of NC items under approved exception.
- Maintain calibration of quality control equipment or Ensuring test equipment is calibrated and working correctly.
- Perform inspections across all stages of production
- Team Oriented
- Strong communication skills; able to effectively communicate with engineering and production groups
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing priorities and tasks as delegated
- Verbal and written communication proficiency
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Familiar with Geometrical Dimensional Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Proficient in use of inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc)
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands:Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel; reach with hand and arms, and stoop, kneel or crouch. Constant standing throughout the shift is required. Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision requirements include the ability to see at close range, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position. Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel:This position does not require travel.
PreferredEducation and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED. Engineering and/or technical degree a plus.
