Gym Cleaner

Pay:$15.00 per hour
Schedule:Approximately 8–12 hours per week

Anytime Fitness is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our members. This is an excellent position for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working independently, and can consistently follow a cleaning schedule.

The cleaner will be responsible for the general cleaning and upkeep of the gym approximately three times per week during non-peak hours. Non-peak hours are generally between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. or after 7:00 p.m.

• Clean and sanitize the gym according to the facility’s cleaning checklist.

• Wipe down and clean cardio machines, strength equipment, free-weight areas, and other exercise equipment.

• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors throughout the facility.

• Clean windows, mirrors, doors, and other high-touch surfaces.

• Clean and restock bathrooms, showers, and locker areas.

• Clean the classroom, functional training area, and turf area.

• Dust furniture, fixtures, equipment, and other surfaces.

• Empty trash containers throughout the gym and take trash to the dumpster.

• Wash towels, fold them, and stock them in appropriate areas as needed.

• Keep all areas of the facility clean, organized, and free of litter.

• Monitor cleaning supplies and notify the manager when additional supplies are needed.

• Report maintenance or safety concerns, including damaged equipment, needed repairs, or burned-out light bulbs.

• Follow all cleaning, chemical-handling, and workplace safety procedures.

• At least six months of professional cleaning, janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping experience preferred.

• Dependable and able to maintain a consistent weekly schedule.

• Comfortable working independently with limited supervision.

• Detail-oriented and able to complete all assigned responsibilities thoroughly.

• Able to follow written and verbal cleaning and safety instructions.

• Basic knowledge of cleaning products and safe chemical handling.

• Friendly, professional, and respectful when interacting with members and staff.

• Able to communicate promptly with the club manager regarding supplies, maintenance concerns, or scheduling issues.

• Willing to provide professional references.

This position requires the ability to:

• Remain active and work at a steady pace throughout each shift.

• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and move between different areas of the facility.

• Reach and clean both high and low surfaces.

• Safely use cleaning tools and equipment.

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Applicants must be available to clean the facility a minimum of three times per week during non-peak hours
. Cleaning shifts will generally take approximately two to three hours, depending on the needs of the facility.

Consistency and reliability are essential. The selected candidate must be able to arrive as scheduled and complete the full cleaning checklist during each visit.
