Laser Operator MWI Components

• Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines to produce precise cuts on various sheet metal materials according to detailed blueprints and specifications
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to ensure accurate fabrication
• Program CNC laser machines using specialized software to optimize cutting paths and efficiency
• Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on laser equipment to maintain optimal performance
• Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances
• Utilize hand tools and fabrication equipment
• Operate forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment safely for loading raw materials and finished products
• Support help to other production lines will be required.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance of laser equipment and work areas.

• High school diploma or GED required
• Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machines or similar CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines or CNC lathes
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues on laser equipment
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances
• Knowledge of tooling setup, sheet metal fabrication, and quality inspection procedures
• Comfortable operating a forklift
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions
