Job Description- Assess children throughout the school and identify those at risk.
- Design and implement academic interventions using research-based methodology in reading and/or math.
- Communicate with school personnel and parents regarding reading and/or math level and rate of progress.
- Differentiated instruction based on assessment data.
- Document interventions and progress for each child supported.
- Assist teachers by providing professional development in early literacy as needed.
- Work with the school leadership team to guide and monitor progress of each child.
- Participate in team reviews concerning academic progress for students who are struggling or are in need of services.
- Share student data with applicable teachers and administration.
- Provide pre- and post-assessment data to teachers and administrators.
- Provide small group instruction.
- Create an atmosphere and environment conducive to intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of each student to ensure success; supervise students in a variety of school-related settings.
- Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and community.
- Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
- Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices.
- Administer informal and formal assessments.
- Apply knowledge of educational research, trends, and best practices.
- Assist in designing, upholding, and enforcing school rules and building positive school culture (PBIS, etc.).
- Actively participate in faculty and/or department meetings.
- Assist in the preparation of data for local, state, and federal reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in Moderate/Severe Special Needs at the Elementary level by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education.
- Experience with K-4 curriculum modifications.
- Experience providing instructional strategies for students with social/emotional and trauma needs.
- Preferred experience with meeting behavioral needs of students and PBIS standards.
- Previous experience teaching children with moderate special needs; reading license preferred from an accredited college or university, in a related field.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, to children and adults.
- Commitment to remain current in content knowledge and teaching strategies.
- Valid Massachusetts Certificate and required background checks.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.

Salary: $60,563 to $102,074 Per Year
