Job Description & How to Apply Below

Blueshift develops cutting‑edge thermal protection and low‑dielectric material solutions that enable the next generation of aerospace, defense, and electronics systems. Our products support customers operating in some of the world’s most demanding thermal, mechanical, and RF environments, where performance, reliability, and quality are critical to mission success.

This role plays a key part in supporting the transition and execution of advanced materials from development through scalable manufacturing, operating within a regulated, aerospace‑grade environment. Working cross‑functionally across Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Product Development, this position contributes to establishing robust processes, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring that Blueshift technologies meet both internal standards and customer requirements under ISO 9001 and AS9100D frameworks.

The Quality Engineer supports Blueshift’s Quality function by applying engineering, analytical, and problem‑solving skills to ensure product and process quality across manufacturing, scale‑up, and new product introduction. This role operates within the established Quality Management System, supporting compliance and execution of quality requirements without direct ownership of the system itself.

Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Applications, and R&D teams, the Quality Engineer provides quality engineering support across raw material qualification, Aero Zero film production, finishing operations, and downstream manufacturing processes. This role emphasizes data‑driven investigations, statistical analysis, risk assessment, and corrective action to ensure products meet defined quality standards and customer expectations. Through active involvement in audits, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives, the Quality Engineer helps maintain Blueshift’s reputation for performance and reliability in highly regulated markets.

Responsibilities
  • Support and reinforce company policies, procedures, and work instructions as defined by the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Operate within the bounds of the established QMS (ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D), ensuring day‑to‑day manufacturing and engineering activities comply with approved processes and documentation.
  • Provide quality engineering support for raw material receipt and qualification, Aero Zero film production, finishing operations (slitting and lamination), Zund cutting, and Copper Clad Lamination processes.
  • Perform and support quality control testing of incoming raw materials, work‑in‑process (WIP), and finished goods for properties determined to be critical to quality. Ensure accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting of results.
  • Utilize statistical tools, data analytics, and engineering methods to support root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain statistically valid sampling plans and support process audits using statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
  • Create, update, and maintain product and process control plans, inspection plans, and testing protocols in support of manufacturing and scale‑up activities.
  • Support customer complaint investigations using structured root cause analysis methodologies and collaborate with cross‑functional subject matter experts to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support risk assessments and process capability studies for new or modified products and processes, particularly during development, scale‑up, and transfer to production.
  • Prepare and review outgoing Certificates of Analysis (COA) and Certificates of Conformance (COC) in accordance with approved quality requirements and statistical evidence.
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities by supporting data analysis, investigation, and documentation of nonconforming material and disposition decisions.
  • Participate in internal audits and support customer, regulatory, and certification audits as needed by providing data, records, and technical input.
  • Maintain accurate and complete quality records and documentation in accordance with QMS and regulatory requirements.
